Recession Proofing your Business

 

Hirsch’s Centurion recently hosted their monthly Business Networking Event, which was well attended by entrepreneurs and business owners alike.  These events are hosted in order to provide a platform for likeminded business people to network and market their businesses.

 

The Guest Speaker at the event, Steve Sutton, CEO from Business Doctors, spoke on ‘Recession proofing your business’.  He discussed the different indicators that could be used to measure the sustainability of a business:

  • Business Value (can the business be sold and for what amount)
  • Stability and Growth
  • Risk
  • Cash Flow
  • Recurring Revenue
  • Marketing (Competition)
  • Customer Satisfaction
  • Management

 

After a most insightful message, the opportunity was given for each of the businesspeople to present their business in an ‘elevator pitch’ of 30 seconds.  There were some lovely lucky draws up for grabs, whereafter networking could commence more informally over a cappuccino and light refreshments.
