WILLPOWER – AND HOW TO GET MORE OF IT
Willpower is apparently like a muscle. The more you exercise it, the stronger it gets. The University of Albany in New York conducted an experiment with a group of 122 smokers who wanted to quit. They were asked to exert extra self control for two weeks by either giving up sweets or squeezing a stress ball for as long and as hard as they could twice a day. Those who were diligent about doing their self-control exercises became more successful quitters than those who didn’t do them.

Allan Hirsch, CEO of the Independently owned Appliance and Retail Giant, Hirsch’s, reports that Hirsch’s had an outstanding festive trading period. ‘It was far better than we expected. To give you just one example, we normally sell on average between 40 and 50 washing machines a day and this went up to 260 washing machines on the day of the promotion that we had on washing machines.
The heat wave had a big influence on trading, and air-conditioners, fans, fridges and freezers sold incredibly well.
The weakening of the rand has made people aware of how much prices will be going up this year and they took advantage of our current pricing to save before the increases.
We are very grateful for a bumper festive trading period and fortunately it is continuing into the New Year.

He almost could not believe his good fortune, and before collecting his prize at the store, called 3 times just to confirm that he had in fact won.” Said Mr Mashegoane: “When I completed the form, I told myself – maybe God will be with me, so that I can win this prize”. He could not stop expressing his gratitude, and his joy was infectious.
The Samsung Brand Ambassador, Hayden, explained to him how the systems works, and also how to do the necessary connections. Hayden and Hirsch’s Centurions Assistant Branch Manager, Jaimie Sigamoney, did the handover of the prize to a beaming Mr Mashegoane.
